HAUNTED HOUSE I

"It's too dark. Let's go back, Aditya. I am scared. Not only dark, but this jungle is also scary. Please, let's go back. "

"Shreya, don't be afraid. We are all with you. We are with you. We are about to reach the haunted house. Don't worry." Aditya said.

Everyone agreed. They were altogether six friends: Aditya, Shreya, Ameet, Nabina, Bishal, and Praveena. Aditya and Shreya are in the relationship; Ameet and Shreya are in the relationship; whereas Bishal and Praveena too are in the relationship. All of these are good friends since their Bachelor’s Degree in Science.

All of them were busy with their work. They had made a plan to go out the tour for an adventurous which weren’t happening. Finally, after two years, all of the planning, they got a chance to out of the valley. So, they reached to Pokhara. It had been two days, they were in Pokhara. At the first day, they visited some places of Pokhara. Om the second day, they were in the jungle. They didn’t know where they had reached.

It was dark and it was already 10:20 pm. When they had reached the jungle, their mobile had been switched off. So, they showed their way through the torch.

“Let’s walk and whenever we see the house, we will stay there. We will all be with each other. Let’s not be separated. We all know that this jungle is scary. Moreover, we are feeling hungry as well as sleepy at the same time but we should not lose our hope and we will reach the place soon.”

All of them agreed and started walking. After 45 minutes, they reached one of the houses. The house seemed haunted and scary. All of them got scared.

“The houses seemed so scary,” Nabina said and went near to Ameet.

“Don’t be scared, we are with you,” Ameet said.

They went near to the house. They knocked on the door. Nobody responded. So, they opened the door which was easily opened. When they entered the house, the rooms were dirty. 

Everywhere, there was insects trap. It seemed no one had entered the house. The room they had entered was big in size. They were chairs and sofa which were filled with dirt. They went upstairs and looked at the rooms. They seemed to be scared.

“How will we be staying here in this house?” Praveena said.

“We will manage,” Bishal said.

They kept all their bags in the living room and ate their food. They ate whatever they had and slept in such condition that they had never slept. Three girls felt awkward to sleep in such a place but they preferred not to complain and slept. 

The next day, they woke up at 8:30 am. After their breakfast, they cleaned the room. They finished cleaning the rooms around 3 pm. After cleaning the room, they went outside the house. They went inside the jungle. Boys were enjoying in the jungle; whereas girls were scared with the jungle.

While they were in the jungle, some scary noises were heard by Praveena. At first, she thought her friends made the noise but frequently, she heard the noise but she didn’t prefer to tell to her friends.

The same day, at the night time, all of the friends were about to sleep, they heard the noise.The noise was scary. All of them were scared and went near to the room where the noise was coming. When they reached the room, they didn’t see anything.

“Who made the noise if there was nobody in the room?” Ameet said.

“No idea. Let’s check the room.” Bishal said.

Everyone agreed and checked all the room but they found nobody.

“There is nobody in the room.” Aditya made the face. Among the six of them, Praveena was scarier. The whole night, she couldn’t sleep. Her focus was noise which she heard in the jungle. She looked here and there. She wanted to share with her friends but something stopped her and she got up from her bed. She went to the kitchen and opened the refrigerate. She took the bottle and was about to drink the water, she heard the noise. Her hand was trembling and she turned back. She saw one girl who was wearing white clothes. She had long hair which was untidy. Not only her hair, were her hands dirty too. Her face was extremely white. Praveena had seen such a person in the horror films but in reality. She screamed. All of her friends woke up and went to the kitchen. She had lied near to the freeze. All of her friends had come near to her.

"Hey, why did you scream?" Bishal said.

She slowly opened her eyes. She didn't see a person. She was amazed as she hadn't experienced in her life and wasn't scared as much as she was today.

She was scared and her friends were asking her for what reason she was scared and screamed. She wanted to share but thought they won't believe her. She remained silent.

"Nothing has happened to me. Actually, I saw a cockroach. So, I was scared. Let's go to the room. Sorry, I made you wake up by screaming."

She got up. Everyone was on the stairs and she turned back. She saw the same ghost smiling. The ghost gave the plastic smile which made Praveena anxious.

Praveena was on the bed with other girls. When they were about to sleep, she said, "Actually, I want to share something with you both."

"What is it?" Shreya said.

Praveena explained everything to Shreya and Nabina. When they heard Praveena's story, Nabina said, "Why didn't let us know before?"

"I thought you guys won't believe me?"

"We should let the guys know about the incident."

"No." Praveena said with the nervousness. Nabina and Shreya were looking at her.

"Why don't you want to share it with them?"

"Let the right time come. First, let us know whether there is a ghost or not."

All of them agreed and went for sleep. The next day, they went to see the jungle. While they were in the jungle, Praveena said, "When shall we leave this haunted place?''

"Aren't you interested to see the jungle? Aren't you enjoying the place?" Three boys laughed but Praveena was more scared.

In the meantime, the girls and got separated in the jungle. The boys were taking the photographs and on the other hand, girls were looking at the jungle which made them scared. Meanwhile, they heard the noise. They were terrified. Although they heard the noise, they moved ahead. When they were walking ahead, they again heard the noise. The noise was louder than the previous one and they started screaming.

"The girls screamed. What has happened? Let's go." Ameet said. They started searching for three girls. After half an hour, they were at the girls' sides. They were frightened and were near to the trees.

"What has happened? Why did you girls scream? Did you see anything?" Aditya said.

"Water, I need a bottle of water."

Aditya took out the water bottle from his bag and gave it to Shreya. All of the girls finished the water. Nabina explained everything to the three boys. She even explained about Praveena.

"Praveena, why didn't you tell me before about the incident? You would have told me." Bishal said.

"I thought you will never believe me so I didn't prefer telling you."

He remained silent. He was looking at Shreya. In the meantime, Aditya said, "Let's go back to the house where we are staying. I have heard that there is a ghost but I never believed it. After listening to Praveena, I think there is a ghost. Let us know whether there is a ghost or not because, in this century, we should be practical so let's stay in this house and know the truth."

All of them agreed besides Praveena and said, "I don't want to stay at this haunted house. Let's go back to Kathmandu otherwise, we all shall die."

"Don't worry. We will first know whether there is a ghost or not and leave the place. Trust us." Bishal said and hugged Praveena.

For two days, there was no strange noise. The house was silent. They were all happy but they didn't know that their happiness won't last for a long period of time.

After the third day, the time was 7:00 pm and they were having their dinner. When they were in the dining table, Praveena said, "I think we should leave tomorrow in the morning. For two days, the house was silent. I think it was my hallucination to see a ghost. Let's go back."

She looked at everyone's face. Everyone were focusing on her.

"Let's have fun here in this haunted house. It's a beautiful place. I think we should get married in this haunted house. What do you say, guys? "Bishal said.

All of them laughed whereas Praveena kept her spoon on the table with the anger and left the dining table.

"Hey, I was just joking. I am sorry, Praveena." Bishal said and followed her. Other friends were smiling and were having their dinner. After finishing their dinner, they were in the living room. Although there was a television in the house, only a few channels were available but those few channels were not available every day. Sometimes, channels would catch the signals and sometimes not. On this day, luckily there were few channels were available. Four of them were watching South Indian Movie 'Yevadu' from Sony Max.

When they were watching the movie, Aditya said, "Hey guys. It has been an hour; Bishal and Praveena haven't come down. What happened to those guys?"

"Don't worry. They are romancing in the room." Shreya said smiling and kissed Aditya.

After completing the movie, they went for sleep. When Shreya and Nabina entered their room, they screamed. When Aditya and Ameet heard the scream, they went into the room and saw the dead bodies of Bishal and Praveena in the bed. There was blood in the bed.

All of the four were nervous and their face was red. In the meantime, Nabina said, “Who killed them?"

"How can we know? We were watching a movie. I didn't get that why didn't they scream?" Aditya said.

"Shall we call the cops?" Shreya said.

"No." Ameet and Aditya said at the same time.

"Police will inquiry a lot and we don't have an answer. If they ask who killed them, we cannot say ghost. They won't believe it. We haven't seen the killer. Cops will suspect us. Moreover, there aren't any weapons."  Aditya said. 

 "What should we do then? "Shreya said.

They started thinking. After half an hour, Ameet said, "Let's dig the dead bodies."

All of them gave a shocking expression. After observing them, Ameet said, "We don't have any options."

Everyone agreed and they looked outside. They packed the bodies in the plastic. Both Ameet and Aditya carried the bodies. They went into the jungle and started digging the ground. After digging, they kept the dead bodies and filled the bodies with the mud and they returned back.  The whole night, they didn't sleep. It was a nightmare for them.

The next day, the time was 7:00 pm, After finishing their dinner, they packed their bags and were ready to move. They looked at each other and they were nervous.

When they were on the door, Aditya said, "Guys let's not get panic. Bishal and Praveena  families will obviously ask about them, we will say that they will return after one week."

"What after one week?"

"We will manage." And they left the house. They went through the way of the jungle which was huge and scary. It was almost 9:30 pm. They were still in the jungle. They felt tired and hungry. So, in the middle of the jungle, they sat. They searched the wood and fired the wood. They managed their food. After they finished their food, they slept in the jungle. In the midnight, Shreya got up for the washroom and went inside the jungle.

The next day, all three got up. Nabina didn't find her friend Shreya. She looked around and said," Where is Shreya?"

"She might have gone to be light."

Nabian agreed but when she didn't return after 20 minutes, Nabina got panic and said, "It has been 15 minutes, she hasn't returned back."

Three of them got panic and started searching Shreya.

"Shreya, Shreya." Aditya called her but there was no response. When Ameet went ahead in the jungle, he fell down. He didn't see the wood and he fell down. He then clashed with the dead body of Shreya.  When he saw the dead body, he screamed. Both Aditya and Nabina heard the screamed, they followed the scream.

When both saw the dead body, they started crying. Aditya was in shocked and said, "Shreya, Shreya. Please, get up. You cannot leave me like this. How am I supposed to live without you? Please, get up for my sake."

He looked at her face and wept. He was lost and started remembering the time and moment spend with Shreya. The whole day, all of them sat near the dead body of Shreya. Three of them were in shock.

"Who is doing all this murder? What does a person want from us? What have we done?" Aditya said.

"Why doesn't a person come in front of us?" Nabina said.

When they were lost in their world, they heard the noise.

"The noise is similar. This sound I have heard before in the haunted house." Nabina said.

They got up and carried their bags. when they tried to escape from the jungle, they were hung up in the trees. They then saw one person. The person was scary. The face was extremely white, the hair and nails were dirty and the person was carrying a candle in the hand.

'Who are you? What do you want from us?" Aditya said.

Her laughter made them scarier. Aditya again repeated the question, "What do you want from us?"

"Death." They heard the voice of a male. When the person came near, Aditya and Ameet were shocked to see him and Ameet said, "You?"

"Yes, it's me." Romeo said and Nikhita came near to them.

"You guys seemed to be shocked," Nikhita said.

"It means you guys killed our friends," Aditya said.

"Yes, we killed your friends by making them scared with our ghost."

'You could have taken revenge with us rather than with Shreya, Praveena and Nabina. They were innocent." Ameet said.

"What was the mistake of Kusum and Lalita? You played with them. You pretended to love them. You guys slept with Lalita and Kusum and when they were pregnant, you guys left them and they committed suicide." Romeo said.

Three of them remained silent. Nabina was shocked to hear about Kusum and Lalita. She looked at Ameet and Aditya. After observing her, she said, "You played with the girls and made them committe suicide."

Aditya and Ameet remained silent. Both Romeo and Nikhita looked at Ameet and Aditya and said, "Now, it's your turn to die."

Three of them couldn't escape as they didn't have any weapons to use. Meanwhile, they were trying to come out from the rope, they saw the ghost. The ghost came near and killed all of them.  They left no evidence.

Kusum had loved Bishal whereas Lalita had loved Aditya.  They pretended that they loved Kusum and Lalita. When Kusum and Lalita knew about fake love, they committed suicide. Ameet too was involved with them.

Kusum and Lalita had shared their pain with their best friends Romeo, Nikhita, and Ameesha who pretended to be a ghost.

When Kusum and Lalita died, their friends made a plan to kill Bishal, Aditya and Ameet. So, they followed each of them and knew each matter of Aditya, Ameet, and Bishal. Romeo knew that Aditya with his friends was making a plan to visit the haunted house of Pokhara, Romeo made a plan to scared them and kill them. Now, Romeo with his friends is happy that the culprits are killed.

Nobody knows who had killed six people in the jungle. Shreya and Praveena didn't get an opportunity to know the truth.
