RAVINDER SINGH
Ravinder Singh ( born 4 February 1982)
is an Indian Author. I didn’t know who he was till 2013. I met this writer at
Ncell Literature Festival in 2013. He was interviewed by
Nepali Actress Nisha Adhikari. After listening to him, I was curious to read
his novel. He had said that he became a writer by luck and his lost love made
him a writer. This was the main reason why I began to read his books.

Happy’s house. They were reunion after three years. They started
recollecting their past lives, the days they spend in the hostel. They
discussed past, present and future. While talking, Amardeep talks about
Shaddi.com and its advantages. Manpreet gets convince and plans to try it.
After three weeks, while checking emails at the office, Ravin
noticed an ad flashing in the top-left corner. It was an ad for a matrimonial
site-Shaadi.com- with a beautiful girl, smiling and looking for her perfect
match. So, he clicked the hyperlink on the ad. He started searching and on the
result page, he found many feminine pictures. Later, while checking the
pictures, he had to register himself so he registers his profile.
After registering his profile on the website, he started getting
messages and calls. Some girls rejected him and some girls he rejects.
But one day, when he was attending the conference call, he
receives one message. It was from Khushi whom he found on the website and had
messaged her. She has sent a message to call him to call back to her. So, he
quickly sends her message that he shall call her half an hour.
So, after half an hour, they started talking on the phone. This
call made them know each other. The most interesting part was that most of the
things were in common like both were born in the month of February, the birthplace
and both have learned classical music. Besides that, they touched on the base
on various things; latest movies, college days, music, families, friends and
other areas of interest.
After this call, they were in touch. They were in love after many
phone calls. They used to call at night time which they used to make romantic
nights by talking about love. Moreover, when there was rainfall, they used to
imagine things that they were dancing with each other and imagine their romance
in the rain.
Khushi family knew about him because she has already mentioned him
but Ravin hasn’t yet told about her. So, one day he promised her that he will
tell about her and finally tells about her and shows her photo. His parents
were happy that he searched for the girl.
Till now, they haven’t seen each other but had heard the voice.
So, they planned to meet each other. Both fell nervous. Both used to call and
ask about each other feelings.
It was afternoon; she came to receive him in Delhi Airport. She
was with her sister and sister’s husband. They went to the hotel to chat. At
first, they just smile. But later, they were in a romantic mood. They were
about to kiss, Girish calls Khushi. This makes Ravin angry.
They started meeting in a regular way. Moreover, their families
met and planned for the marriage and both Khushi and Ravin were happy. Their
engagement was fixed on 14th February as planned by the
couples.
They both were happy that they were supposed to get married. But
Khushi gets more excited about the engagement and gets mad about it. She used
to say my engagement, my engagement.
But one day, Ravin’s life changed in a drastic way.
One day, before their engagement, they were talking on the phone.
Still, she was in the office and was doing her urgent task. She promised him to
wake up at around five in the morning but she didn’t.
The next day, he woke up at 6:30 am and was shocked that she
didn’t call him. So, he calls Khushi’s mobile. He heard Girish’s voice. Later,
he knew Khushi met with an accident and was kept in ICU. While returning back
from office, her cab met with a suffered a lot of blood loss.
Although the blood was managed, there was an improvement and she
was taken to another hospital, she couldn’t survive at last. All of a sudden
her blood pressure fell down drastically. The impact was so much that it led to
her collapse.
Although he was survived, he died every day. Without her, he felt
so alone. Her memories were kept alive. He missed her every moment of her life.
CHARACTERS
The main characters are Ravin and Khushi. Ravin’s friends and
their families are mentioned little.
The character of Khushi’s sister is nice. When Khushi and Ravin
want to spend together for some time, Khushi's second sister cheats her mother
that she is in the class and her class been delayed for twenty minutes. But due
to rain, they were trapped in the middle of the road and couldn’t reach home.
Khushi’s sister managed the situation so beautifully.
The families are mentioned little but also the characters are not
exaggerated. They are mentioned little but whatever mentioned them, it is
portrayed nicely.
Khushi and Ravin’s characters are so natural and realistic. The
main characters seem natural because the novel is based on true love about
Ravin and Khushi’s love life.

In the beginning, the readers might feel bore to read but after
the entry of Khushi, the readers feel interesting to read. When readers read
the novel, they don’t feel bored to read it. Readers might cry, feel romantic

The writer Ravinder Singh has written in simple language that everyone understands and the story touches the heart of the readers. Moreover, the story has been written in honesty. The readers must once read the novel to know what the meaning of love is. The readers won’t feel regrets after reading the novel.

survival.
CAN LOVE HAPPEN TWICE
Do
you believe that love can happen twice? If you think so, then you
must read the novel “CAN LOVE HAPPEN
TWICE?’’ by Ravinder Singh. If you
don’t think that love cannot twice than also you must read ‘’CAN LOVE HAPPEN
TWICE?’’. The
novel might teach how to fall in love which is a true one.
The
novel “CAN LOVE HAPPEN
TWICE?’’ is the beginning of the story which ends in “I TOO HAD A LOVE
STORY”. In other sense, it is the sequel of “I TOO HAD A LOVE
STORY’’ in which the story begins after the death of Khushi.
On
Valentine’s Day, a radio station in Chandigarh hosts a very special romantic
chat show. Ravin and three best friends are invited as guests to talk about
Ravin’s loves story. But surprisingly, everyone apart from Ravin turns up. As
the show goes live, there is only one question on every listener’s mind. What
happened to Ravin?
To
answer this question, the three friends begin reading an unpublished book of
Ravinder Singh ‘’CAN LOVE HAPPEN
TWICE?”
After
Khushi’s death, Ravin goes to Belgium for the change. Although, he changed his
love for Khushi never changed. He couldn’t love anyone like that.
When
he was in the gym after two weeks in Belgium, he saw one beautiful Indian girl
in the mirror while he was running in the treadmill. At first, he thought she
was looking at him but she wanted him to leave the treadmill. After ten
minutes, he left the treadmill. She was behaving rudely with him.
The
next day, she met with Ravin on the bus and said sorry to him for the rude
behavior.
When
it was his birthday, he called most of the Indians who live in Belgium. He even
called Simar on his birthday. She came when all the guests went. She came with
her friend called Tanu.
She
sat for a few minutes as she was in a rush for the hostel. On the same day at
night, they started playing truth and dare which they got the opportunity to
know each other.
In
this way, they started meeting each other, started to send messages and calls.
Now, slowly he started changing.
After
Ravin’s birthday, Simar again comes to Ravin’s room and he gives his
unpublished book “I TOO HAD A LOVE
STORY.” While reading, she leaves the room by telling me that she
is getting late.
The
next day, she messaged him and said she liked the book. She didn’t believe that
Khushi is no more. Even she didn’t know that the love of Ravin towards Khushi.
She didn’t believe he loved her so much. Moreover, she didn’t believe that they
had kissed each other that’s why she left the room of Ravin.
Slowly
and gradually, they started loving each other. Most of the time, they used to
spend their weekend together.
One
day, he has to go to India for office work. When he came to India, there was
regular call and video chats with each other.
Slowly,
she was changed and she used to talk differently. Due to this, they broke up.
For
what reason they broke? Whose fault was behind the breakup? What happens to
Ravin’s condition after they apart? Will she come back to his life? Did she
listen to the Radio?
The
story is simple and readers will enjoy the novel. After reading “I TOO HAD A LOVE STORY,” readers
will have curious about what has happened to Ravin’s life.
While
reading the novel, readers can relate to their own lives. Besides, readers
might feel sympathy for Ravin’s unluck love.
Moreover,
the readers might feel the writing skills of Chetan Bhagat and like watching
films.
According
to me, I love the sequel of the book. Its because the sequel represents a modern
love story where every youngster wants their career is more important than
marriage and family.
So,
the readers should once read the novel once to know what true love is and to
know what the relationship means. While reading the novel, readers can say yes
love can happen twice.
YOUR DREAMS AR MINE NOW
After the success of “I Too Had A Love Story” and “Can Love Happen
Twice?”, Ravinder Singh came out with another book “Your Dreams Are Mine
Now," which is about politics, love and drama.
The
novel starts with the day marked by the arrival of a new batch of students in
Delhi University [DU]. Just like the thousands of students in DU about to step
into a brand new beginning, a whole new life was ready to welcome Rupali. And
she was ready to embrace this life.
As
mention above, the new life was ready to welcome Rupali, one of the scandals welcomes
her. DU manager faculty, Mahajan exploits one of the female peon Raheema. On
the one hand, this scandal changes the life of Rupali and on the other hand,
Arjun who is a Delhi guy, seriously into youth politics in DU helps her to
overcome this problem. This scandal brings them together, they begin to walk
the same path and somewhere along, fall in love……… But their fight against evil
comes at a heavy price, which becomes the ultimate test of their lives.
To
be honest, I love the book as it covers love, politics, drama as well as it has
a beautiful message to the youth to stand and refused to suffer in silence. But
the fact is that the readers feel like they have heard the story. It’s like
watching crime patrol and films. Rupali takes the video of Mahajan exploiting one
of the female peons which are alike the film scene. Furthermore, some of the
scenes are like Crime Patrol. When Rupali was rape and dies in the hospital, it
makes the reader watching Crime Patrol and this scene also makes remember the
case of Delhi gang-rape.
In
addition to these, scenes like when Mahajan has taken to jail and after coming
out from the jail, taking revenge on Rupali are like filmy. Hence, it makes it like
watching filmy.
Ravinder
Singh has tried for a different story than from these previous books which is
the best part. Similarly, language is the second good aspects. Readers will
find the language simple and easy to understand. The third part is that the
readers won’t feel bored until the end.
Hence,
lastly, I would suggest readers read the book for once. Some people may like it
and some may not like it. If you have read Ravinder Singh's previous novels, I
could tell they may like the new one.
THIS LOVE THAT FEELS RIGHT
Naina Singhania is married to Siddharth Singhania- A husband who
doesn't have time for his wife. She joins a gym. Thus begins her journey of
self-realization. In the gym, she meets Malvika and Aarav. Aarav is a trainer
in the gym. As time passes, three of them become good friends. Malvika, on one
hand, Naina used to share everything with her and on the other hand, Aarav and
Naina both fell in love with each other.
Naina finds Aarav caring and responsible. He used to care for her
in small matters. Most of the time, she used to compare Aarav with her husband;
why Siddharth cannot be like Aarav and she used to tell this to Aarav. At the
end of the story both confess that both are madly in love but will they be
together? Will Naina tells her husband about her extra-marital affair?
CONCLUSION
The characters of this book are layered and are constantly
evolving. The protagonist, Naina, is a typical Indian housewife, young,
restless and bored with a husband who is lusting and running after money. Naina
has hit her mid-life crisis pretty soon, so devoid of the materialistic gains,
she longed for true love. The projection of her conservative demeanor is done
remarkably and many rich and young housewives will be able to relate to her
character.
The author starts with a very strong prologue. It is an honest
confession from Naina. This sets a very exciting tone for the novel ahead. And
the initial few chapters live up to these expectations. It is a delight to read
them. The forte of this book is that the characters are developed very
strongly. The almost dormant characters of Naina’s mother-in-law and
father-in-law and her own parents, also have a healthy part to play. All
characters do their job well. It's very rare that a narrative that has strong
characters doesn’t farewell. The unusual part of this novel is that I fell in
love with a supporting character – Manvika Thakral. The free-spirited, a bit
controversial character that has been etched in the name of Manvika is a
winner. Not everyone might agree with me, but then that is love.
The thoughts that the author voices with her as the mouthpiece are thought-provoking.
Not necessary that everyone will agree but it definitely starts churning
different things in your head. The final chapters and the epilogue just take
your heart away. Almost all questions, one has in their head are voiced by
Naina and a very fresh approach has been given to it with this firecracker
named Manvika.
My only complaint with this one is the middle chapters.
They lose the pace, and that is where the book misses that chance of being
an excellent and recommended read. The author has done a commendable job in
opting to write on such a topic but I wish he would have got a little
bolder and would have given it a different climax.
These are the books that I have read. ‘Will You Still Love Me,’ ‘The
belated Bachelor Party,’ these books I have read till now. I have read these
short stories but these novels are far better than stories.
The reason why I love books because of the simplicity which means language
and story which easily touches the heart of the people. Whenever I read his
books, I feel like watching movies. Moreover, whenever I read his book, I feel
that true still exist like ‘I Too Had a Love Story,’ and ‘Can Love Happen
Twice,’ is based on a true story and made me emotional.
‘Your Dreams are Mine Now,’ and ‘This Love That Feels Right’ too
made me emotional and touched my heart. Another reason why I love his books is
that I am moved with his emotions and stories and characters. Furthermore, I
loved his characters and I am connected with his characters. I feel like he is
writing my story.
