NOVONEEL CHAKRABORTY

It was the year 2013, I had visited Ekta books.  While buying the book, I saw one title named ‘Marry Me, Stranger.’ The title caught my eyes and I brought the book. After finishing the book, I became a huge fan of Novoneel Chakraborty. I read most of his books which are ‘Marry Me Stranger,’ ‘All Yours, Stranger,’ ‘Forget me not, Stranger,’ ‘Black Suits You’, ‘Forever is a Lie’, ‘Forever is True’, ‘The Best Couple Ever’, and ‘Half Torn Hearts’.

The reason why I love his books is that his speciality lies in romantic thrillers that he writes along with philosophy mixed in it.  Not only that, his main character is focused on the female characters rather than male characters.  He has a strong woman character. That’s why he is often called Sidney Sheldon. Furthermore, he tries to write books so that the reader can’t put them down. He tries to construct them so when the reader gets to the end of it, he or she has to read just one more chapter.

Likewise, he has absolutely brilliant character sketches. More than that, he writes in detail. Like in Stranger Trilogy, he has written in detail. In ‘The Best Couple Ever,’ too he has written in the details; the story, place and the characters. After reading his books, the readers can know how the character was, how was the place and how was the story.

Due to those reasons, I loved his books. I don’t know why is he so underrated writer.

 ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Novoneel Chakraborty is an Indian author of fiction. He was born on 27 October. His specialty lies in romantic thrillers that he writes along with philosophy mixed with it. His first book "A Thing beyond forever" released in 2008 and won the national bestseller tag in just a few months of its release.

He followed it up with "That kiss in the rain" and then wrote the book that won him the biggest applause, "How about a sin tonight?" He went on to write commercial bestsellers like "Ex" and then "The Stranger Trilogy". The first two books of the trilogy- "Marry Me, Stranger" and "All Yours, Stranger" have won many hearts. He next released "Forget me not, Stranger"; the final installment of the trilogy. The stranger trilogy is slated to release in 6 different languages all over India by 2018. The series is also soon to be adapted to a 3-season web series by Applause Entertainment in partnership with film-maker Goldie Behl.

His next release, "Black Suits You" was a psycho-sexual thriller released in November 2016. He followed it up with his 9th book, also a dark romantic thriller titled "Forever Is A Lie" that released in 2017, August. The sequel of this book, his 10th book and Book 2 of the Forever Series titled "Forever Is True" released in October 2017. The Forever series has since then found its place in Times of India's Most Stunning Books of 2017 and has been featured in Amazon's Memorable books of 2017 and Flipkart's Most Selling books of 2017.

His 11th book, published in 2018 is also his first short story collection titled "Cheaters." His 12th book released in October 2018 is titled "The Best Couple Ever". In October 2018 he also released his 13th book, a thematic sequel to his famous book, Black suits you titled, "Red Suits You". The book is exclusively available only on Amazon Kindle. His 14th book also cited to be his most autobiographical work to date titled, "Half Torn Hearts" released in February 2019.

2019 marks his debut in the digital storytelling platform Wattpad where he writes under the pen name of Elizabeth Eli.

He is also a scriptwriter for television.
