VIVA OF SECOND YEAR
After few weeks of board
examination, viva started. We had to give viva of two subjects: journalism and environment. The external that
came for journalism was rude. Not only rude, he as extremely horrible. When we
didn’t give correct answer, he scolded by telling that we are the students of
journalism, why didn’t we know the answers.
One of my friends got
angry with the external and said to him that although we studied journalism, it
doesn’t mean that we should know everything. He didn’t say anything. Another
friend too got angry and told him why was he rude with us. Our Mass Communication and Journalism teacher
used to laugh when we didn’t give the answer. That made us angry with him. Most
of the students were angry with him.
On the other hand, the external
sir of environment was cool. When we didn’t know the answers, he used to
encourage us to tell the answer. He used to create a friendly answer that made
us comfortable and speak friendly. Sir who taught us environment was too cool.
He remained silent when we were in the room. He didn’t make fun of the student.
After these viva, I
learned that friendly and smiley helps to motivate the students rather than
rudeness. When teachers are rude, students won’t prefer dealing with the
teachers and they don’t feel comfortable with the teachers. So, to encourage
the students, teachers should be polite. If teachers are smiley, students love
to give answers and will speak which helps them to grow in speaking and helps
to brainstorming.
