“The Boy Who Loved” is a fifteen novel of Durjoy Datta. The novel is about Raghu Ganguly. On the other words, the novel is basically a diary of a boy where he described how he faced the atrocities that life threw at him; in a plot that takes you back to 1999-2000.

Raghu is intelligent boy and is one of the toppers of his class. He is from the middle-class family. He has an elder brother to whom he looks up to and plans to study in an IIT college. But in his heart, there is guilt. He has a grief-stricken with the death of his best-friend, who drowned in the school’s swimming pool. He hasn’t shared this incident to anyone. Due to this reason, he is away from making friends and becomes unsocial. But life changes when he meets a Brahmi girl of the same school and falls in love with her.

Will he express his love towards her? What happens next? There are twists and turns in the story that every reader will love the book.

CONCLUSION
To be honest, I love the book. At the beginning of few pages, I felt little boring but when I continue the book, I felt excited because of lots of twist and turns. The writer Durjoy Datta had made the reader hold till the end. More than that, it made curious to read the second part of the book named “The Boy with A Broken Heart.”

The characters are so natural. They are like us. Raghu’s parents are up to the mark as well as his brother. Raghu, the main character holds the readers till the end. He makes what will happen to him and his family. Overall, there is not one character whom I can find faults with. They all are well thought of and have a certain depth about them.  More than that, the story has ended unpredictably and unconventional.

So, I love the book. One must read the book.  I would rate the book 4/5 for the story and the characters.
