LIKE A LOVE SONG -BOOK REVIEW
BOOK: LIKE A LOVE SONG
AUTHOR: NIKITA SINGH
LANGUAGE: ENGLISH
COUNTRY: INDIA
GENRE: FICTION
PUBLISH DATE: MARCH, 2016
PUBLICATION: HARLEQUIN PUBLISHER
Recently, I read a novel
named “Like a Love Song,” of Nikita Singh. Before this book, I have read her
the novel named “The Promise.”
The book contains abundant
dosage of love, friendship, heartbreak, self-discovery and struggle. Moreover,
the book has divided into different parts.
Every part ends with an anticipatory note. Maahi is the main character
of the novel. She is a depressed girl who drops her university because of her break
up with her boyfriend. She moves on and gets a job at a tech firm, but then
gets one at a coffee shop and teaches herself to make cupcakes by watching
YouTube tutorials.
She works at Cosy Coffee in which she meets Lila who becomes
her best friend and shares her everything. While working on this Cosy Coffee,
she fell in love with the regular customer Siddhant. Slowly and steadily they started liking each
other. And then gradually, their love grows. Moreover, she opens the bakery
shop with her friend Laila which was her dream.
The last and
the final part of the book tells you about Maahi’s situation, which is getting
to its negative side with every flipping page. She is confused about what to
do? She is not sure about Siddhant either. She is looking a
place to hide and lock herself for some time. She doesn’t want to be connected with
the world and she even doubt to accomplish her dream to open a
bakery shop with Laila. This part will be an interesting one to read as it
unfolds many different aspects. It binds up not with very happy note but it
feels better to see that Maahi is happy. She is with those human beings, who
trust and love her unconditionally.
In totality, I love the book. Honestly, I wish
for the happy ending. Although, she is successful and is doing she loves to do,
in the journey of life, you need to person to hold your hand and let you know
how much he/she loves you. There are twists and turns. It holds till the end. I
love the way she have written. One must read the book.
