BOOK REVIEW
After the success of "It Started with a Friend Request," "That's the Way We Met," and "Few Things Left Unsaid," Sudeep Nagarkar had come with the new novel named "You're Trending My Dreams."
The novel is about four friends:Varun, Ahana, Malvika and Garima. More than that, its about their live. Varun is sloppy yet lovable. Ahana is gusty and reckless. Malvika is the group's selfie queen and Garima is the reserved one.
Varun was fair-complexioned, with light brown eyes and a slight stubble. He was extremely fond of branded watches and had a huge collection of them. He was very possessive about his watches. But he was frustrated with his father who was an ex-army officer. He was brought up in a strict millitary style environment and wanted to run away from the cage his dad had built for him. He felt that his father never understood him. He wanted to study BSc but his father wanted him to study military. So, he finally escaped from there and came to Mumbai. In Mumbai, he had his good friend Ahana and lives with her. In the room, he meets Malvika and Garima.
Ahana is a modern and straightforward girl. She was full of life and passion. She enjoyed late night parties and lived the life of a princess. She was a real beauty-fair and flawless skin, sparkling eyes that expressed thousands of emotions. More than that, the tattoo on the side of her neck added to her charm. It showed she was modern and independent. Furthermore, she wanted to be a top fashion designer.
On the other hand, Malvika was mature enough for her age, compassionate and caring. She was the girl you'd rather talk to in bed than take in bed. She knew how to speak her mind intelligently and captivate others with her words an opinions. Her words were what made her the woman she was. Furthermore, she wanted a guy who could touch her heart and soul.
Garima, a chubby, sweet girl who was an introvert, she was not shy or meet but preferred not to go out for reasons better known to her. Since she was still virgin, she was often taunted by her classmates. Her cirumstances had shaped her personality in a certain way and though she tried to be more outgoing, it was genuinely difficult for her to be so. She was not at all old-fashioned but preferred to stay away from relationships and be with a limited set of people with whom she was comfortable. But she was comfortable with Malvika.
They met at the flat of Mumbai and became good friends. Not only, they became friends, they were family for each other. But suddenly, their life changed after the break-up of Ahana and Sid and Garima gets into obstacles. To save her Varun goes in the wrong way. Not only this, Garima was hiding something to them which was about her past and affects the present life. Moreover, the relationship of Varun and his father get changed.
What happen after the break up and what did Varun do to save her? To know these, you need to read the book.
After completing the book, I didn't find the book so interesting as his other books. Although, the book is targeted to the youth, it's not so interesting. After reaching to the climax, readers might feel that this type of scenes are seen in the television especially in Crime Patrol because of blackmailing scene, threats to Garima and Varun activities to save Garima. More than that, readers might feel the characters weak. I found the characters not so powerful either the story. The title "You're trending in My Dreams" is catchy but it doesn't suit according to the story. So, I could rate the book 1.5.
