THE YEAR 2071 OF NEPALI FILM INDUSTRY
The year 2071 B.S. was not known as effective year for the Nepali Film Industry. 84 movies were released on 2071 B.S. Among them, 9 movies were able to recover their investment which are: November Rain, Kabaddi, Kohinoor, Himmatwali, Lazza,Talakjung Vs Tuke, Jerry, Nai Na Bhannu La 3 and Hawaldar Suntali and rest of the movies were flop. Five movies like Thuli, Punarjanma, Mala, Stupid Man and Bhool Bhulaiyaa were able to grap audience at initial phase but couldn't recover their investment. But we can see lots of new actor, actress, producers and directors gave a entry. Moreover, new stories was seen in the film industry. However, new stories were made, movies couldn't recover their investment.
Aawaran, Hasiya, Mukhauta, Shree Paanch Ambare, Naaike, Zindagi Rocks, Alvida, Bhimdatta, Mala, Bhool Bhulaiyaa did lots of promotion in the media but according to its promotions, they didn't do well in the theatre.
'Kohinoor' did an excellent job in terms of the profit. For three days, it didn't go as well but after the death of Shree Krishna Shrestha, the movie did the business of 12 crore. Audience went to watch the movie for the sake of Shree Krishna Shrestha and to show sympathy on Sweta Khadka.
On the other hand, the one of the achievement is that Saugat Bista set the World Genius Record as the youngest director. Although,the film didn't run successfully, Saugat Bista made a good record which made Nepali proud.

In the year 2071 B.S., Nepali Industry loss two personalities:
a) Shree Krishna Shrestha: The death of actor Shree Krishna Shrestha was a very unexpected and hurtful death in the Nepali film industry. He died within a month of his marriage to actress Sweta Khadka. He died a day after the release of his home production "Kohinoor". Shree Krishna had an image of lover-boy and a good dancer in the movies. He was liked by viewers and colleagues. Both of his home production movies 'Kaha Bhetiyela' and 'Kohinoor' were super hit movies.
b) Alok Nembang: The news of suicide of Alo Nembang also came as shocking news. He was known as music director. He directed movies like 'Sano Sansar', 'Koi Mero' and 'Ajhai Pani.' Among these three films, 'Sano Sansar' was huge hit.
SCANDALS AND GOSSIPS
The year 2071 B.S. was also known as the scandals and gossips. The most talk gossip was of actress Priyanka Karki's inner garment which got captured in the camera in the event of the success party of Nai Nabhanlu La-2. This picture of her made Priyanka viral in media and posted status using abusive words to the journalist. Later, this subject matter was closed down.
Similarly another talk of the town became the gossips of Shilpa Pokhrel and director Chabbi Raj Ojha getting married. This talk went in the media like fire. This started with when Chabbi gave the reaction of getting married to Shipa if she wishes to. Shilpa also showed the interest towards the proposal of Chabbi's marriage. But later, it was done for the promotion of the film.
The another scandal was of Rekha Thapa and Sudarshan Gautam. Both of them were open with their love affairs and marriage. They posted their photo of kissing and commneted on their love. The love that started with Facebook became a promotional scandal for the movie.But after released of their movie the gossip just cooled down.Now they have became tow banks of river.
Another popular scandal this year was love between actress Nisha Adhikari and cricketer Sharad Bheswakar. Nisha admitted her love for Sharad in this year and made her love public through Facebook. But she created hostility with journalist saying that the things that came out before her making love public were not the truth. Nisha collected the popularity spending time with Sharad. Their love also seen in the funeral of late father of cricketer Shakti Gauchan.
Actress Susma Karki too came in popularity. Her break up with Niran became great scandal. She was with living together relationship with Niran. When she broke up, she had bikini photoshot. She removed the tatto of his name from her body made fire in the movies industry this year.
