A RIVETING JOURNEY OF DREAMS AND REBELLION

 

Recently, I watched the movie named “Udaan.”  Although it was released in 2010, I got to watch this year. The movie has the powerful storytelling, realistic portrayal of characters, and poignant themes.

The story revolves around a young boy named Rohan (played by Rajat Barmecha) who is expelled from boarding school and forced to return to his oppressive father's home in Jamshedpur. Rohan's father, Bhairav Singh (played by Ronit Roy), is a strict authoritarian figure who wants Rohan to follow in his footsteps and take over the family business. However, Rohan dreams of becoming a writer and desires to break free from his father's control.

The film beautifully captures the conflicts within the family, particularly the strained relationship between Rohan and his father. It explores themes of familial expectations, rebellion, and the pursuit of one's dreams. The emotional depth of the characters and the authenticity of their interactions make the film a compelling watch.
